I <3 Q100.
Q100? To be specific, 100.5 FM, a radio station in Atlanta. Their morning show, the Bert Show, simply pwns me most every day.
Today they were talking about gift-giving, and a dude called up who basically said… “I’m going to divorce my wife if I do not get a Playstation 3 for Christmas.”
Of course a suitable explanation for such a bold statement (get it, bold? its a crazy thing to say, plus I bolded the ty… nevermind) was sought, and he basically said that every year for Christmas he gets his wife exactly what she asks for, be it jewelry or whatnot, and he always get some trite, inconsiderate gift. One year he bought her a Lexus, had it in the driveway with the red bow and all that, and in return he got a $25 gift card to Target. Zing^2.
As you can expect, most callers as well as the hosts of the show vehemently disagreed with the ultimatum, but as he explained himself, it became clear that it wasn’t entirely about the amount of money (as it would come out of his bank account if she blew a wad of $$), more that he was just upset at this lack of consideration year after year. One lady even called in and said that her husband doesn’t buy her Christmas gifts, she buys gifts for herself, wraps them, and then puts them under the tree From: her husband To: herself. That’s just as messed up, but in the opposite direction as the dude.
In any case, it made for some great radio. They’re gonna have him on the show after Christmas to find out what happened (because that will make for some great radio as well).
