… and right on the heels of a whine about spending money… comes a post about some technology I’m lusting after.
Currently, on my desk, is one of these:
It’s a 19″ CRT (big, not little) monitor. It’s a leet tech hand-me-down from the awesome Abbas.
But… just imagine with me…
A 24 Inch widescreen LCD monitor… hooooly crapola. With a ridiculous 1920 by 1200 pixel resolution, its goodness is best defined by phrases like ‘drinking unicorn giggles.’
Not to be outdone… apple’s gets bonus points for its sleek metallic finish:
Alas. Such things cost in the realm of $650 to $999… which is of course in the realm of a whole new computer (well not for me, but someone else. I lust after some individual components of a new computer that cost that much each…).
FL: Games By Email – kinda like those hardcore people who play chess by mailed letters back and forth over the course of several years. Brad and I used to play this leet CTF game over email, I think I got pwned. Or maybe it was even. Yeah, it was even. tie.
Get a 20’1 inch wide. Only 300 bux and it looks wonderful. The larger the screen the harder it is to play WoW btw…

it’s almost too big.
J: Don’t play WoW anymore. Though the 20 inch range seems to be the sweet spot for size/price right now though.
C: How dare you say such things. If it’s almost too big, you can have this 17″ CRT clunker sitting on my office desk, we can trade. I’ll even drive to AL to come pick it up.
30″ apple high def’s are sick. My research prof has two of them….
