Recap: September 16th - 22nd.

First week at new job, completed. Check.

Monday: The value of a dollar spent. Somewhat-serious post about how misguided and mismatched our views on spent money can be.

Tuesday: Computar Competence, series 1: An analysis and explanation of the correlation between computer skillz and number of icons in the tray on a user’s windows computer.

One note about this post: Shortly after posting Tueday’s post, I got an email from Josh Brown 1, with the Subject of “True”, with no body text except the generic ridiculous corporate disclaimer (I’d also like to take this opportunity to point out that I think this linked post is way funnier than anything I’ve written this week, so I’d check it out and stuff), and finally… this image:

I’m speechless. With no less than 13 (THIRTEEN) tray icons, its like Josh is trying to set some sort of world record with his antics. He’s got perennial favorites like the touchpad icon, which is virtually useless, the volume control icon, which he could change using keyboard shortcuts printed on his laptop’s keys, and my all-time favorite, the Quicktime tray icon. Go Josh!

Wednesday: A short post, related some odd chronology facts about my commute and the length of 1 Corinthians.

Thursday: Eric and wife manage to lose important, official, do-not-lose-this documents, reflects on the difficulty (well, lack there-of) of replacing them.

FL: Battery Charging over USB - Hot.

Quicktime, java update scheduler, and the microsoft security center. Yuck. The rest are cool, except for that little jet engine looking thing beside the american flag. I think its probably an audio control, but who knows.
