Eric tries to profile different types of bloggers.
And may succeed, may not. Most people are probably a profile of all these types, but we’ll let this develop and marinate as we go along.
Today’s type:
1# The ‘A Day in a Life of’-ers:
Pretty common sort. Their posts focus on what happened to them in the last 10 minutes, the last weekend, or major events over the last month. If they’re average-to-decent writers, then only their friends read it. If they’re great writers, their blogs have the potential to rise to critical acclaim, ala Dooce et al.
Generally, everyone has this category somewhere in their profile of blogger-types. Some people its 2% of their posts, others its around 95%. It’s usually pretty easy to tell.
People on my blogroll who tend to fit this description the best: Anna, Emmuh.
FL: Idiots.
I think I’m kind of mad at you. And that just happened in the last ten minutes. So there.
