Personal Finance whatnots

Over the last few days, I’ve been focused like a laser beam (or some other sort of very focused, high-energy device) on personal finance stuff. It’s something of a hobby for me, I love to learn about all the various forms of investments and tools available.

I’ve learned quite abit, and will continue to learn more about such things, and perhaps blog some of it. I’ve also talked to some of you about how you “do” money, and its so interesting how there’s not really one consistent way to do it (maybe that’s bad, a consistent way to do it would at least give people a standardized goal to shoot for). Some of you advocate no debt at all, some of you have just a house loan, some have credit card debt but own cars, it goes on and on. Some of you invest in CD’s, some in mutual funds, some have an emergency fund in a savings account, it goes on and on.

Two blogs have been teaching me alot about money in this quest, and its time to give them the props they are due:

Dumb Little Man - deals with lots of do-it-yourself stuff, tech stuff, and financial stuff. A good balanced read.

MyMoneyBlog - this guys purty dang smart, me thinks. I highly recommend this blog, especially some of his archives, all sorts of knowledge buried in there. Offers financial stuff, as well as offering up tips on various free offers of all sorts. awesome.

FL: (courtsy of jer-mee) Pattern Clock - an alarm clock that, when it goes off, it starts a random pattern of 4 lights. The sleeper has to press the lights on the alarm clock in the same pattern as emitted to snooze or turn it off. Amazing.
