Goals for the new year…

…listen, I get it, it’s June, unless I’m on some whacked-out calendar that’s not the “new year.” Nevertheless, this is when I managed to sort this stuff out in my brain, so we’ll pretend that the standard calendar runs June to May. So, without further ado, here’s what I hope to do. These are in no particular order, other than the order I thought to type them in:

The Linux Initiative - By a year from now, I hope to be free from the “yoke” of software I have to pay for. That doesn’t mean I will pirate my software (though I am a pirate, so its well within my rights, yaaarrrr), but primarily use software that is offered for free. This includes operating system, office applications, internet stuff, etc. Since I’m such a sucker for them, it may not include games, cause people just don’t make great games for Linux. Sadface. For more info, see this post for more info.

The Bible Intiative - d10 and I have the same bible version/publisher/whatnot, and he figured out if you read 4 OT pages and 4 NT pages a day, you’ll read the old testament 2 times and the new testament 6 times in a year. So, that’s what I’m doing. Started this one in May, currently in Numbers and Romans. Leet.

Anyway, the goal is to actually follow-through and do 8 pages a day. So far, so good.

The Wife Tutoring Initiative - Since she doesn’t have a blog, I’ll just announce it here (not that its new news)… the wife no longer is a teacher in the public school system! It pwned her life, to an extreme degree.

Given these truths, she’s looking for something else to do. More and more, that looks to be tutoring. Expect some massive shameless plugs for this tutoring venture in the near future.

Anyway, this year, I hope to support and assist the wife in her pursuit of a job she likes. Hopefully that job will be and can be tutoring, for reals.

Fitness - Blah blah, standard goal. Get in shape, look hawt (-er than I am right now). You know the drill. DDR, lifting weights, whatnot.

yes, all support in every area is appreciated. while some of my goals are similar, I don’t share all of eric’s goals. I’m sure I’ll learn about linux, and probably eventually enough that I will have to use it, but it’s not necessarily a goal of mine…. more of a side effect of it being eric’s goal.

here it is, out there for everyone to read………. I admit it……. I have started playing DDR a bit more regularly. I actually can try some of the standard ones now.

and…………. I just can’t seem to put myself in any other working situation. So, send anybody my way that’s looking for a little extra help in school.
