Overheard in gmail chat, part three – super extra bonus remixed leet picture edition.

Over the weekend, gmail released a feature that allows you to pick a picture for your contact information for other people to see, so when you email them and they forgot your name, they can say, “oh right, yeah, thats so-and-so.”

Anyway, I don’t really understand the point of it, but they also let you change what a user’s picture looks like to you and only you. I guess that’s if like someone put an ugly picture on there, and you didn’t look like it, so you could just replace their ugly face with, say, Nick Lachey’s (you can see Jessica’s hair in that picture, I’m gettin all misty-eye’d).

ANYWAY, on top of all this hilarity, you can even suggest your leet picture as a replacement to the image your friend has chosen, if you think yours is better. Given the range of pictures on the internet, I’m not sure how this is ever going to be a good idea. evar.

Nevertheless, let’s find out what happens when Eric discovers this feature…

A couple afternoons ago, my leet friend Ben received the following email…

Yes, you old-time blog readers, that’s a pygmy goat, and quite a cute one at that. You’d think ben would be overjoyed to have people associate him with the majestic pygmy goat, let alone such a cute one as that. Plus, the picture has a nipple in it, and is one of the few ways you can safely get away with being able to say, “my gmail chat pic has a nipple in it.”

But, alas. Not is all so perfectly clear to Ben. Let’s listen in on the discussion:

If you have Ben’s gmail contact information, I strongly recommend suggesting your own fun photos to him. I think he’d like that.

FL: The Locks O’ Truth – see what happens when some armed retired guys with abunch of cool guns decide to see if they can shoot locks and open them, mythbusters style. Highly recommended.
