CNN: reporting really really really important stuff since 1980

Have a quick gander at those. Sure, its got stuff thats real important, like info about immigration, protests, etc. But down towards the bottom… it gets alittle silly. Now I understand that reporting news that isn’t momentously important every minute of the day is quite normal, in fact I often enjoy such stories, but one of the headlines is:

‘Idol’ dismisses another contestant

Isn’t the point of news to report things we didn’t already know? American Idol dismisses another contestant every single week… which makes reporting this about as newsworthy as saying:

‘Eric’ posts weekly recap on his blog

‘Saturday’ to come after this Friday

‘24′ to feature a cliffhanger ending

‘Traffic’ in major U.S. cities to suck around 5 o’clock
